About the Artist

Ashley Deering creates art out of the trials and tribulations of her life, including the ins and outs of bipolar disorder. She uses her nostalgia for 90’s cartoons, bright colors, and textures to bring difficult emotions to life. Ashley lets her experiences and humor drive her creative process resulting in childlike analogies most of us can relate to. A self-taught artist, Ashley has made it her mission to bring color and life to difficult topics like mental illness and the emotional repercussions of trauma, in hopes to create more empathy in society. Through all of this, DepressedHappily was born.
